Step 8: Complete the 2 step registration, Customize & Insert Contents

MiloStartup, WordPress

Complete the 2-Step Registration

Congratulations for successfully installed WordPress. Complete the 2 step registration process when prompted and you are good to go. The inputs may be modified if desired at the Options menu.

Customize

Next is to customise your site with desired  themes and plugins.

Again some links that you can refer to for help if you run into any trouble in the installation process:

WordPress Main Page
WordPress Support Forums

Create Contents

Last, but not least, insert contents. Try to get up to about 12 quality posts ASAP. 12 is just a general guide. Without sufficient contents, Adsense or Blogrush may reject your application.

That completes our series of setting up a WordPress website.

Welcome to the WordPress blogging community! Happy blogging!

PS: To read the entire story in starting up a website, select “Startup” under categories.

Step 7: Run the /wp-admin/install.php file from the browser

MiloStartup, WordPress

This step is a test of whether you have done previous steps correctly. So cross your fingers and cross your toes, hope for the best and just do it …

Run the /wp-admin/install.php file from the browser, ie. open up your favourite browser and type in the address as http://www.domainname.com/wp-admin/install.php.

If you have done the previous steps correctly, it should bring you to a 2 step registration window, otherwise you will get an error.

Some resources you can go to for help if you get an error:
1.  WordPress Documentation
2.  WordPress Support Forums

If you do get to the 2 step registration window, congratulations, you have installed WordPress successfully and you are ready to rock, just one more simple registration step to go.

Next … complete the 2 step registration process.
